A large, aquiline, crooked nose with a pronounced bridge or a thick tip is a candidate for surgery to give it a more harmonious shape and aesthetic. There are multiple rhinoplasty techniques, although they tend to be grouped into two types of procedures:
- Open rhinoplasty: An incision is required in the nasal columella to more easily address the different structures of the nose.
- Closed rhinoplasty: The incision is made in the nasal vestibule without the need for a visible incision in the columella.
Depending on the type of patient, the plastic surgeon decides on one technique or another for the best resolution of the nasal alteration.
