Tumours

Surgical treatment of benign/malignant tumours of the skin and soft tissue

Skin tumours, which are abnormal accumulations of different types of cells, can be present from birth or develop subsequently. When the growth is controlled and the cells do not spread to other parts of the body, these skin formations (tumours) are not cancerous (benign).

When the growth is uncontrolled and the cells invade the normal tissue and spread (metastasize) towards other parts of the body, the tumours are cancerous (malignant).
