Gluteoplasty

There are two alternative surgical procedures with very satisfactory results: cohesive silicone gel implants and the injection of fat removed using liposuction from other parts of the body for people who want to increase the volume of their glutes. The silicone implants are similar to breast implants, although they are more robust and with a special shape, appropriate to aesthetically increase the glute region permanently and reversibly.

• Lipotransfer: Through a thinner cannula than the one used in conventional liposculpture, the surgeon removes fat from other areas of the body such as the lower back, abdomen, waist, knees and hips. This fat then undergoes a purification process and is injected into the glutes, drop by drop, taking into account that the area contains blood vessels that ensure the proper blood supply of the transferred fat which must survive as a graft.
• Using silicone gel implants: Your surgeon makes a small incision of between 6 and 7cm in the halfway line between both glutes, within the hollow that separates them. Through this incision, a pocket is formed inside each buttock, to place the cohesive silicone gel implants inside them.

The anaesthetic can be local or sedation, spinal, peridural or general. The surgery lasts approximately 2 to 3 hours, both for the enlargement with implants and the transfer of fat. This normally requires one day of hospital admission.
