Burn treatment in Cádiz

Burn treatment

Burns are a specific type of injury to soft tissues and their adjacent structures, caused by physical agents, chemical substances, electrical current, and radiation. The severity of the burn depends on the temperature of the environment that caused it and the length of time the victim was exposed. Other factors affecting severity include the location of the injury on the body, its extent, depth, age, and the person’s health.

The treatment given to a burn depends on its depth and cause. The main objective when planning therapy to cure a burn is to restore lost tissue. This can be achieved by promoting natural cell regeneration and preventing infection in less severe cases, or by using skin implants in cases of burns where the tissue cannot regenerate on its own.

Science has made great strides in research, and today it is possible to grow skin cells to use as grafts for very severe burns.

Similarly, research has developed numerous sterile materials to dress affected areas, preventing infection, which, as we have already mentioned, is the primary concern when treating burns.
